With the month of July now in full swing, we’re definitely looking forward to the taster events surrounding the fabulous Bristol Balloon Fiesta. The main event will happen from 8th-10th of August and like every year, weather permitting, we’ll all look up to enjoy the sight of hundred of balloons taking to the Bristol sky.
Although Dan has been in a ballon several times (show off!), I never had the chance to take on this unique experience, until last July, when we were lucky enough to be offered a flight together. If you follow us on Instagram, you would have seen us the videos and pictures we share as we took to the air. With this year’s edition of the Balloon Fieta just around the corner, we thought it’d be nice to revisit some of our pictures.
Our pilot was brilliant and as we ascended much faster than I had anticipated, he was giving us tips and facts about flying in these magical envelops.
We had gathered with the crowd on College Green very (very!) early that morning, and it was fabulous to elevate alongside Bristol Cathedral and see the council building become smaller and smaller, before flying over the harbour, Redcliffe, the city centre and further afield.
I could not stop beaming the whole time, and will remember this experience forever.
