With the month of July now in full swing, we’re looking forward to the taster events surrounding the fabulous Bristol International Balloon Fiesta. The main event will happen on 8 – 10 August and like every year, we’ll all look up to enjoy the sight of hundreds of balloons taking to the Bristol sky.
Although Dan has been in a balloon several times (show off!), I’d never had the chance to take on this unique experience, until last July, when we were lucky enough to be offered a flight together. If you follow us on Instagram, you would have seen us the videos and pictures we share as we took to the air during the press launch. With this year’s edition of the Balloon International Balloon Fiesta just around the corner, we thought it’d be nice to revisit some of our pictures.
Our pilot was brilliant and as we ascended much faster than I had anticipated, he gave us tips and facts about flying in these magical envelopes.
We had gathered with the crowd on College Green very (very!) early that morning, and it was fabulous to travel into the sky with Bristol Cathedral behind us and see City Hall and other buildings become smaller and smaller, before flying over the harbour, Redcliffe, the city centre and beyond.
I could not stop beaming the whole time, and will remember this experience forever.
